We all like nice things right? You go to the mall or online shop whatever you prefer to do and you choose what looks best to you. Some even chose expensive clothes just because they have a “name”. Just because they’re expensive. Us humans has given products the absolute highest power that its potential to cause questioning on one’s self worth is now at its highest. The problem is majority of the human population is blinded and brainwashed by money. We like things that are of good quality and looks appealing but don’t think twice about the history, maker, and meaning behind such.
My name is Ronnique Louvier and I’m just a young girl who realized at a young age the world revolves around money. Through Louvier Tatum, I’m providing versatile garments with meanings behind each and every piece. I focus on Hoodies and Sweatsuits because it resembles “comfort”. And everyone loves a good hoodie right? Imagine running out the house, needing something to throw on, but you want to still look nice. Louvier Tatum is designed to balance your confidence level. Whether it’s from the touch of your hands to the interpretation in your head. Every garment sold has a purpose to serve. Whether it’s solely for the quality or the meaning behind it.
My Dead Presidents design portrays message that the 100 bill is nothing but paper, an object. It’s not alive it doesn’t breathe oxygen like another fellow human. However, we give it so much power and value that we treat this “thing” as if it’s superior to our own. Hence, when we see that a character in a cartoon is “dead” there’s usually an “X” over each eye. The “X’s” on this design & the quote on the hood, serves a similar purpose. So even though there may be a face on the $100 bill, we must remember this object is just as lifeless as the machines used to make it.
How can we be mentally healthy when we value paper over people?
